SMT Supervisor

SUMMARY:
Our client seeks an experienced SMT Supervisor to oversee the Surface Mount Technology department in a leading electronics manufacturing environment. The role involves driving production efficiency, ensuring quality compliance, maintaining SMT equipment, and leading a skilled team to meet delivery and performance targets. This leadership position requires strong SMT expertise, decision-making skills, and the ability to manage fast-paced operations.

POSITION INFO:

Responsibilities:

• Manage SMT production operations to meet daily and monthly schedules.
• Allocate resources effectively across operators, quality controllers, and material handlers.
• Approve first-off builds and ensure compliance with IPC and customer standards.
• Troubleshoot and maintain SMT equipment including pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, and AOI systems.
• Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary SMT team.
• Conduct production meetings and provide reporting on performance metrics.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and resolve Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
• Support internal and external quality audits and customer visits.
• Maintain safety standards and ensure adherence to health regulations.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Diploma or degree in Electronics, Manufacturing, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of supervisory experience in SMT or electronics manufacturing.
• Proficient in SMT processes including programming, reflow, and AOI.
• Solid working knowledge of IPC standards and quality systems.
• Strong technical understanding of SMT equipment and workflows.
• Proven leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
