Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Bookkeeper to join their team. This is a senior-level, office-based position suited to a candidate with extensive legal bookkeeping experience, including conveyancing bookkeeping and trust accounting.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the full bookkeeping function of the practice and will work closely with the firm’s partners, practice manager and legal teams.

You will be responsible for:

Managing the full bookkeeping function of the legal practice.
Maintaining business and trust accounts.
Performing daily trust reconciliations.
Preparing monthly reconciliations up to trial balance.
Processing conveyancing bookkeeping transactions.
Ensuring compliance with legal accounting and trust accounting requirements.
Liaising with the partners and practice manager regarding financial matters.

Qualifications

Relevant qualification in Accounting, Bookkeeping or Finance would be advantageous.

Skills

The successful candidate will have:

Proven experience as a Legal Bookkeeper within a law firm.
Solid conveyancing bookkeeping experience.
Strong knowledge of trust and business accounting.
Experience preparing accounts up to trial balance.
Proficiency in Ghost Practice is essential.
Excellent reconciliation skills and strong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a busy legal environment.
