SMI 18316 - Head of Litigation (Admitted Attorney) – West Rand

Our client is seeking an admitted attorney to take ownership of an existing litigation function and lead it with a high level of independence. This is a hands-on role suited to a commercially minded litigator who is confident managing matters from inception through to finalisation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a diverse litigation portfolio spanning commercial disputes, property-related matters, collections and a significant volume of community scheme work, including CSOS-related disputes, governance issues, evictions and related litigation.

This is a leadership opportunity with the ability to grow into a more senior, revenue-driving role within the firm over time.

You will be responsible for:

• Managing litigation matters independently from inception to finalisation
• Drafting pleadings, applications, legal opinions and court documentation
• Handling court appearances in both Magistrates’ Court and High Court
• Managing a varied caseload including commercial, property and community scheme disputes
• Taking ownership of a litigation portfolio
• Liaising directly with clients, bodies corporate, HOAs and stakeholders
• Ensuring efficient case progression and adherence to deadlines
• Contributing to business growth through a commercially driven approach
