SHEQ OFFICER

Overview

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Health & Safety Officer to support and promote a safe, healthy, and compliant working environment across corporate offices and project sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining occupational health and safety systems, ensuring legal compliance, conducting audits and inspections, and driving a strong safety culture throughout the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) policies, procedures, and compliance systems.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, risk assessments, and hazard identification activities.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and implement corrective and preventative actions.
• Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, training sessions, and awareness programmes.
• Monitor contractor compliance with safety requirements and legislation.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with employees, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Ensure emergency preparedness plans, evacuation procedures, and drills are implemented and maintained.
• Maintain accurate OHS records, reports, registers, and compliance documentation.
• Monitor compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and industry standards.
• Promote a positive safety culture and continuous improvement across all business operations.

Minimum Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field.
• SAMTRAC, NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent health and safety certification.
• Registration with a relevant professional body will be advantageous.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years'''''''''''''''' Occupational Health & Safety experience.
• Experience within construction, engineering, industrial, or similar environments preferred.
• Sound knowledge of OHS legislation, risk management, incident investigation, and compliance requirements.
• Strong computer literacy and administrative skills.
