An international manufacturing business is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented SHEQ Officer to oversee, maintain, and support the organization’s Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality standards. The successful candidate will ensure full operational compliance with relevant legislation, corporate policies, and standard procedures while actively fostering a safe, highly efficient working environment. This permanent position involves conducting regular workplace inspections, overseeing complex documentation, leading investigations, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across all operational units.

Requirements
Candidates must possess at least 5 years of verifiable experience working within Quality, Health, and Safety environments.
Direct experience managing internal and supplier audits is necessary for this role.
Hands-on experience facilitating ISO audits, specifically regarding ISO 9001:2015 frameworks, is required.
Deep knowledge of health and safety regulations alongside standard workplace compliance is essential.
A solid understanding of quality management systems and industrial ISO processes is required.
Strong organizational, administrative, and data management skills are critical for success.
The ability to identify workplace risks and implement effective corrective actions is necessary.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking capabilities are highly valued.
Effective communication skills are needed to work with staff members at every level of the business.
The role requires a professional who can work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain follow-through.
Excellent report writing and structured documentation management skills are required.

Qualifications
A Grade 12 (matric) certification
Formal qualification in Health and Safety, Quality, ISO
Computer Skills
Complete computer literacy is required for daily operations.
Previous operational experience with SAP systems will be an added advantage.
Responsibilities
Daily duties involve conducting regular internal and supplier audits to maintain compliance with company standards.
The successful candidate monitors and preserves quality, health, safety, and environmental compliance across the site.
Identifying potential workplace hazards, operational risks, and non-conformances forms a key part of this role.
The position requires the systematic implementation of corrective and preventative actions for identified risks.
Maintaining accurate SHEQ documentation, audit findings, records, and reports is a core function.
Assisting with thorough incident investigations, root cause analysis, and safety reporting is required.
Routine workplace inspections must be performed to verify safety and quality compliance.
The officer supports continuous improvement initiatives to enhance site safety and efficiency.
Monitoring supplier compliance regarding corporate quality and safety regulations is expected.
Preparing documentation and records for upcoming external audits is an important part of the job.
Fostering a proactive safety and quality culture through training and awareness initiatives is highly encouraged.
