SHE OFFICER

SUMMARY:
We are seeking a SHE Officer to ensure full compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993.

POSITION INFO:

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, compliant, and hazard-free workplace. This is a hands-on role for a safety professional committed to operational excellence. Cape Town-based candidates will be given preference.

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric or NQF Level 4 equivalent
• Health & Safety qualification (essential)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a SHE role
• Pharma or FMCG experience with GMP exposure

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine safety checks and risk assessments
• Ensure compliance with OHS Act and all safety legislation
• Investigate incidents, manage IOD reporting and COID claims
• Maintain the H&S management system and audit compliance
• Manage PPE, emergency procedures, waste streams and HSE permits
• Chair safety meetings and present toolbox talks and induction training
• Oversee contractor safety, HIRA processes, and monthly safety statistics
• Liaise with HR on training and regulatory requirements
