SAP Business One Functional Administrator

SUMMARY:
The SAP Business One Functional Administrator is the in-house owner of client`s SAP B1 environment. The role is responsible for day-to-day functional administration, report development, user enablement, and integrity of the data model.

Qualifications:

Essential:

• Minimum three years of hands-on SAP Business One experience as a functional administrator, super-user, or consultant. Generic SAP ECC or S/4HANA experience will not substitute.
• Demonstrated Crystal Reports development experience. Candidates will be required to walk through reports they have built and complete a short practical assessment.
• Strong SQL skills (HANA SQL). Must be able to write joins, sub-queries, aggregations, and CASE logic, not merely read existing queries.
• Working knowledge of the SAP B1 authorization model, including general authorizations, data ownership, and field-level authorizations.
• Experience configuring UDFs, UDTs, formatted searches, alerts, and approval procedures.
• Sound understanding of accounting and inventory fundamentals. This role cannot be filled by a pure technical specialist.
• Strong written communication skills for documentation and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Proven ability to work alongside an external implementation partner and to validate work delivered rather than blindly accept it.

Preferred:

• Experience with DI-API or Service Layer development, or supervision of same.
• Boyum B1UP administration experience.

• Manufacturing, distribution, or mining sector exposure.
• Prior experience supporting a SAP B1 go-live or major upgrade.
• ITIL Foundation or equivalent change management exposure.
• Exposure to consolidated reporting across multiple business units or legal entities.

Selection Process:

The selection process will include a structured competency-based interview followed by a sixty-minute practical assessment covering:

• Crystal Reports layout modification against a supplied SAP B1 sample dataset.

• Writing and modifying SQL queries against a supplied schema, including joins and aggregations.

• A scenario-based authorization design exercise.
