SAICA Trainee Accountant (Junior to Intermediate)

Are you passionate about accounting and on your way to becoming a Chartered Accountant (CA(SA))?

We’re looking for a Trainee Accountant with at least 1 year of experience and a solid foundation in financial reporting, tax, and compliance—ideally with some exposure to the transport industry.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum requirements:

• Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting (completed or in progress)
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Trainee Accountant
• Familiarity with the transport/logistics industry is advantageous
• Proficient in Excel, SharePoint, and procurement platforms
• Knowledge of Draftworx, Caseware, and Pastel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Bilingual in Afrikaans and English preferred

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with bookkeeping to trial balance
• Prepare financial statements and management reports using Draftworx, Caseware, and Pastel
• Perform VAT and PAYE reviews and submissions
• Reconcile accounts, process invoices, and manage debtors collections
• Assist in tax calculations, registrations, and SARS compliance
• Liaise with clients and provide support on accounting queries
• Maintain SARS accounts and manage tax clearance applications
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and auditing standards
