Seeking a skilled Rubber Extruder Operator for a Manufacturing Contractor role in JHB - Eastern Suburbs.

POSITION INFO:

Rubber Extruder Operator

Key Responsibilities

• Operating Machinery: Setting up, adjusting, and operating molding presses or extruders.
• Production Duties: Loading rubber compounds, pigments, and chemicals into molds, and removing finished products.
• Quality Control: Inspecting parts for defects, such as flash (excess material) or improper curing.
• Finishing Tasks: Trimming or grinding excess rubber from molded parts.
• Maintenance & Safety: Performing minor machine repairs, troubleshooting, and following strict safety procedures (PPE, chemical handling).
• Documentation: Completing production logs, check sheets, and reporting issues to supervisors.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Manufacturing experience is usually preferred.
• Physical Ability: Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Technical Skills: Ability to read blueprints, drawings, or standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Competencies: Attention to detail, basic math skills, and the ability to work in hot/heavy environments.

Working Conditions

• Often involves working 8-hour shifts, with potential for weekends or overtime.
• Environment may be hot, loud, and involve exposure to chemical fumes.
