Retail Cashier and Sales Assistant

SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Retail Cashier and Sales Assistant to join their team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting with sales, processing transactions, and supporting the retail team in delivering an exceptional customer experience. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a positive attitude, excellent administrative abilities, and a proven track record in retail sales and customer service.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 3+ years’ internal sales experience and/or customer service experience.
• 3+ years’ retail/shop floor experience in a similar industry.
• Matric essential.
• Clear credit record.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver required results with a proven track record in internal sales.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and independent worker who is also a strong team player.
• Well-groomed and professional appearance.
• Displays pride in who they are and what they do.
• Effective communication skills.
• Excellent customer service, care, and problem-solving skills.
• Good planning, organisational skills, and time management abilities.
• Neat and tidy.
• Friendly and helpful disposition with a positive attitude.
• Good administrative skills with strong attention to accuracy and detail.
• Proficiency in the use of Word, email, and the internet.

• Grow the retail client base.
• Maintain and grow individual budgets.
• Be proactive in assisting walk-in customers.
• Take telephone orders professionally and ensure that orders are prepared for customers as agreed.
• Ensure products are neat and tidy, placed on the correct shelf/hook, or in the correct container/position.
• Ensure all surface areas in the responsible workstation are clean.
• Maintain a high standard of overall condition and appearance of the assigned workstation and products.
• Order and update stock daily, as required.
• Conduct stock takes on request.
• Ensure pricing and product codes are visible at all times.
• Arrange and merchandise products effectively.
• Follow correct company procedures relating to the above-mentioned responsibilities, in accordance with company policies and procedures.

• Monday to Friday: 08:00 – 17:00
• Saturdays: 08:30 – 13:00
