POSITION INFO:
Hoseki Restaurant is looking for a Restaurant Supervisor to support daily operations, ensure excellent service, and lead a professional front-of-house team while maintaining high standards of guest experience and operational efficiency.
Main Responsibilities:
• Supporting the Restaurant Manager Team with the daily operations of the restaurant;
• Being present on the restaurant floor to assist with service flow, guest interaction and responding to guest needs;
• Assisting with the training and development of restaurant staff in line with the restaurant’s service standards and service journey;
• Monitoring service quality and ensuring that established service standards are maintained;
• Communicating relevant information to the team and coordinating communication between the front-of-house and kitchen teams;
• Assisting with staff rosters and ensuring adequate coverage during service periods;
• Assisting with daily cash-ups and reporting discrepancies to management;
• Supporting general administrative duties such as responding to guest queries, maintaining records and assisting with stock control;
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety and hygiene regulations;
• Maintaining a professional and visible presence on the restaurant floor during service;
• Supporting management with staff guidance and ensuring team members follow operational procedures.
Main Requirements:
• Grade 12;
• Bilingual;
• 1 – 2 years’ experience in a supervisory or senior waiter role within a hospitality environment (preferably 5* or luxury establishments);
• Comfortable engaging with distinguished clientele;
• Good knowledge of food and beverages, including dietary requirements, bar basics and wine varietals; wine knowledge or WSET certification advantageous;
• Strong teamwork and communication skills;
• Well-presented with a strong customer service orientation;
• Ability to learn menus and wine lists quickly;
• Ability to work within operational hours (evenings, weekends and public holidays);
• Ability to maintain professional relationships with colleagues across departments;
• Flexible, reliable and enthusiastic.
