Restaurant Supervisor

SUMMARY:
We are seeking a dedicated and service-oriented Restaurant Supervisor to support the daily operations of the restaurant and ensure an exceptional guest experience. The successful candidate will assist in supervising staff, maintaining service standards, coordinating restaurant activities, and ensuring smooth operational flow during service periods.

POSITION INFO:
Employment Type: Full-Time 
Salary: R 20 000 – R 22 000 basic salary plus benefits 
Location: Sandton, Johannesburg

Minimum Requirements 

• Grade 12 / Matric.  

• Hospitality qualification will be advantageous.  

• Minimum 2–3 years' experience in a supervisory role within a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment.  

• Strong knowledge of food and beverage service standards.  

• Experience working with restaurant POS systems.  

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  

• Strong leadership and team coordination abilities.  

• Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays. 

• Supervise daily restaurant operations and ensure efficient service delivery.  

• Assist with opening and closing procedures.  

• Ensure all restaurant areas are clean, organised, and fully prepared for service.  

• Monitor food and beverage presentation and service quality.  

• Ensure compliance with company policies, operational procedures, and health and safety regulations.  

• Assist in managing reservations, seating arrangements, and guest flow.  

• Lead and motivate front-of-house staff during shifts.  

• Provide on-the-job training and coaching to team members.  

• Ensure staff adhere to grooming, uniform, and service standards.  

• Assist with shift planning and staff allocations.  

• Monitor staff performance and provide feedback to the Restaurant Manager.  

• Support the induction and onboarding of new employees.  

• Deliver exceptional customer service and create a positive dining experience for guests.  

• Handle guest queries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.  

• Ensure guest requests are addressed efficiently and courteously.  

• Promote a guest-focused culture within the team.  

• Assist with stock control and inventory management.  

• Monitor stock levels and report shortages to management.  

• Ensure accurate billing and cash handling procedures are followed.  

• Complete daily operational reports as required.  

• Assist with restaurant audits and compliance checks.
