Research Technician

RESEARCH TECHNICIAN 

Our client, a leading seed breeding and production company specializing in high-performance sunflower varieties, is seeking a Research Technician to join their team!

- Location: Potchefstroom, North West
- Benefits: Provident Fund + Company Vehicle (not part of CTC)
- Working Hours: 8am - 5pm, Monday to Friday
- Start Date: ASAP
- Training: If necessary

Essential Requirements: 

- Agricultural Degree or related qualification
- 2-5 years experience
- Valid driver''s license  
- Excellent computer skills, specifically Excel

Key Responsibilities: 

- Planning and outline of statistical trials for Sunflower, Soybean, Sorghum and Maize
- Plant, monitor and harvest trials according to company protocol
- Active involvement at farmer-days and demonstration planting
- Assist with data collection of research and marketing trials
- Ensure accuracy and quality of all data
- Support Marketing Managers during plant and harvest of marketing trials (peak seasons)

- Strong planning and organizational skills

Essential Skills: 

- Excellent computer skills, specifically in Excel
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Trustworthy, punctual and high level of self-motivation
- Willingness to work and travel on weekends/work overtime during peak seasons (on occasion)
- Good administrative skills/computer literacy
