JOB DESCRIPTION:

Main purpose of the job:

  • To assist the head of the unit to carry out research activities in the field of Paediatric Oncology

Location:

  • Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital

Key performance areas:

  • Perform administrative duties required to run research activities (clinical trials)
  • Create basic images for social media communications
  • Communicate with staff to coordinate administrative tasks
  • Submit documents to fulfill regulatory and financial requirements
  • Data capture
  • Conduct literature reviews
  • Collect and analyze data
  • Prepare materials for submission to granting agencies and foundations
  • Prepare materials for Human Research Ethics Committees
  • Request or acquire equipment and supplies necessary for the project
  • Prepare, maintain, and update website materials
  • Attend project meetings
  • Summarise project results
  • Prepare progress reports for the PI and funding agency
  • Prepare other articles, reports, and presentations
  • Monitor the project budget

Required minimum education and training:

  • Degree in Biomedical fields preferable

Required minimum work experience:

  • Minimum 1 years experience in the medical research field
  • Experience with specialized software and/or datasets

Desirable additional education, work experience, and personal abilities:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Microsoft Office and writing skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, flexibility, and accuracy
  • Punctuality and reliability
