Refrigeration Technician

POSITION INFO:
Our client is a leading commercial refrigeration and cooling solutions provider operating across South Africa, dedicated to delivering top-tier maintenance, installation, and field service support to commercial clients.

We are seeking a trade-tested Refrigeration Technician based in the Western Cape to lead site installations, perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot defective commercial refrigeration units, and supervise junior technical staff in the field.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, service, and troubleshoot existing commercial refrigeration cabinets in the trade.
• Carry out new cabinet installations and ensure all job sites are left clean and safe.
• Supervise, mentor, and guide junior technical staff on-site, ensuring high standards of work and professional conduct.
• Ensure strict compliance with Health and Safety standards on all customer sites.
• Accurately complete, sign, and stamp job cards, delivery notes, and expense reconciliations for prompt submission to the Helpdesk.
• Take responsibility for company assets, including vehicle maintenance, clean driving practices, and tool care.
• Provide professional customer service on-site and assist with monthly stock takes.

• Refrigeration Mechanic Trade Test (Commercial).
• Valid Safe Handling & Gas Certification. 
• Valid South African driver’s licence.
• Proven experience servicing commercial refrigeration or air-conditioning systems.
• Working knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
• Willingness to work on a standby rotation.
