Job Description

Raw Material & Process Technologist

In the position, you will need to liaise with suppliers, customers and government officials and maintain all relevant documentation to prove due diligence. The role will further involve conducting trend analyses and assisting with food technology improvements.

Key Job Functions

• Involvement from Concept stage on all new development by providing input/assistance to NPD
• Plans and conducts factory trials and pre-productions in accordance with the launch calendar schedule
• Capturing Critical Data at trials
• Organoleptic quality and shelf-life analysis
• Assistance with new Raw Material documentation
• Technical specification and administration
• Liaising with raw material supplies and collecting information
• Product hand over to relevant Factory/Technical personnel, prior to launch. Ensuring launch product complies with spec
• Continuous improvement / incidental
• Conduct desk top risk assessment of potential new suppliers.
• To understand food law to ensure product and packaging comply with legal requirements.
• To remain constantly up to date with the technical changes in the manufacturing industry.
• Handle all technical queries on a day-to-day basis.
• To use knowledge of food safety to ensure safely manufactured products to required standards.
• Perform other technical duties as required by the business.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience Required

• Minimum 5 years Industry experience
• Food Technologist Diploma or Btech.
• Making key decisions based on expertise and experience in fast paced
• environment
• Self-motivator.
• Work to high standards to get things right
• Passion for product and achieving excellence
• Good communicator
