Your typical day in a radiology environment includes:
• Working closely with the rest of the team to provide superior diagnostic and interventional services.
• Collaborating with physicians and healthcare providers to ensure accurate, timely patient diagnoses.
• Managing patient care with compassion and professionalism, ensuring comfort and safety throughout their visit with us.

Minimum Requirements:
• Registered Nursing Diploma/Degree
• Current SANC Registration
• Familiar with/some exposure to scrubbing techniques for surgical/interventional/radiology procedures
• Excellent communication, both written and verbal
• Passion for great patient care
• Excellent interpersonal skills and able to build good relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities:
• Obtain clinical history & patient screening prior to an interventional procedure as part of pre-procedure assessment
• Ordering relevant blood tests and interpreting blood results
• Assist with interventional radiological procedures
• Intravenous line insertion for infusion
• Injections (medication/sedation/contrast)
• General catheterisation
• Bag, mask and/or portable ventilation & relevant support
• Basic life support, Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) including use of Defibrillation device (auto or manual)
• First aid
• Close surgical incisions
• Provide post care instructions
• Administration of Oxygen
• Full spine immobilization & log roll
• Assist with patient immobilization
• Communication with referring doctor and patient regarding procedure specifics
• Assist with the process and preparation of medication for Iodine allergy prep, nerve blocks and cardiac imaging
• Assist with the Triage of procedure order, as required
• Assist with patient queries
• Post procedure monitoring or follow up calls/consults with patients
• Consumable control
• Health and Safety Representative for the Branch
• Attend H&S meetings
• H&S training in the branch
• Communicating and updating relevant stakeholders regarding all incidents.

• Performing any task delegated by the supervising medical practitioner in accordance with your education, training and experience and within your scope of practice.
Hours of Work:
Shift Rotation on a weekly basis:
• 06h00 - 14h30, 07h30 – 16h00, 08h00 – 17h00, 08h30 –17h30, 09h00 – 18h00
Weekend Overtime – every 3rd weekend:
• Sat: 06h00 – 18h00 (time off given for the morning and OT payment for afternoon – 7 hours)
• Sun: 06h00 – 18h00 (paid as OT)
