Radiographer

• Ensure the optimal use of all relevant equipment available in Section
• Ensure the competent execution of relevant x-ray procedures and/or protocol
• Ensure high quality x-rays
• Ensure a quality and professional x-ray service to patients and referring clinicians
• Ensure that standards are upheld in respect of training, quality assurance and accreditation
• Protect patients from over radiation
• Protect colleagues and nursing staff from exposure to radiation
• Promote the image of the Practice as a professional provider of medical imaging services
• Maintain QC standards and an optimal workflow in the Section
• After hours and weekend duties

Perform viewing room duties including partial radiation control tests

• Produce high quality images and ensure adherence to quality standards
• Maintain patient and radiologists’ satisfaction with quality of service rendered to them
• Promote the image of the practice as a provider of professional x-ray services
• Bookings

Maintain continuous professional development

• Maintain professional knowledge of Radiography
• Render optimal and professional radiography service to patients
• Ensure continual update on knowledge in a changing technical field
• Maintain required CPD points

Patient care

• Render a professional service to all patients
• Ensure patient satisfaction with service/s rendered to them
• Promote the professional image of the Practice at all times
• Resolve patient queries in the most effective and efficient manner
• Ensure a smooth flow of patients through the x-ray department

Perform ad hoc duties e.g. administrative duties

• Perform Radiation control tests
• Stocktaking
• Cleaning of procedure rooms and sensitive equipment
• Administrative duties as need arises
• Any other duties related to the position
