Opstal Wine Estate is situated in the picturesque Slanghoek Valley only an hour’s drive from Cape Town. It offers fine food and wine, beautiful accommodation, and caters for weddings, conferences, functions and much more.
This is a great opportunity for someone to join our team and work towards delivering an authentic and memorable customer experience at our estate restaurant, Opstal Eat.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Handle reservations and administration
Manage and oversee the entire restaurant operation
Deliver superior guest services
Staff management – hiring, training, performance evaluations
Ensuring compliance with hygiene and health and safety legislation/guidelines
Stock control of restaurant inventory and equipment
Management of Point of Sale system and ensure correct pricing
Managing budgets, cost control, assessing and improving profitability
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cash ups
Events planning and coordinating

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES AND SKILLS:

Excellent communication skills in Afrikaans and English
Strong supervisory, motivational and people skills
Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
Good time-management skills
Strong administration / reporting / costing skills

REQUIREMENTS:

Matric / Grade 12 certificate
Tertiary qualification in food and beverage management / hospitality management (advantageous)
At least 5 years restaurant management or events management experience
Own reliable transport
Familiarity with restaurant management software (iKentoo experience is advantageous)
