Employer Description

Our client specializes in design, manufacture, assembly and commissioning of process equipment systems.

Job Description

Assist with the electrical and automation design of dosing skids, pump systems and water treatment equipment.
Assist with PLC logic for dosing systems, pump control, alarms, interlocks and automated sequences.
Work with external PLC programmers where required, and help test, document and verify their work.
Assist with SCADA/HMI development, testing and fault-finding where required.
Set up and troubleshoot industrial communication systems, including Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP/IP, Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Profinet or similar protocols where required.
Configure and fault-find communication between PLCs, HMIs, VSDs, instruments, remote I/O, flow meters and other site equipment.
Review and interpret P&IDs, electrical drawings, panel layouts, wiring diagrams and instrument schedules.
Assist with control panel design, component selection, layout review, wiring philosophy and build standards.
Assist with the building, wiring, modification and testing of our own control panels where required.
Prepare or assist with I/O lists, control philosophies, FAT procedures, SAT procedures, commissioning checklists and technical documentation.
Support workshop assembly, pre-testing, I/O checks and FAT testing before equipment is dispatched to site.
Attend site when required for SAT, commissioning, troubleshooting and client support.
Fault-find electrical, instrumentation, PLC, VSD, communication and control-panel-related issues.
Assist with procurement and selection of instrumentation, control equipment, VSDs, electrical components and panel hardware.

Qualifications

Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineer

Skills

PLC programming exposure and PLC fault finding.
SCADA/HMI configuration and troubleshooting.
Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP/IP.
Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Profinet or similar industrial networks.
Electrical troubleshooting.
Control panel wiring, testing and modification.
Instrumentation calibration and control loops.
VSD setup and troubleshooting.
Motor control.
Pump control logic.
I/O testing and commissioning.
FAT and SAT.
Reading P&IDs and electrical schematics.
Basic project coordination and documentation.
