SUMMARY:
Quote Specialist
POSITION INFO:
Our client is looking for a driven, organised and highly accurate Quote Specialist to join their team.
This is a fast-paced role suited to someone who is commercially minded, sales driven, detail-oriented and solution-focused, with the ability to manage multiple RFQs and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage customer RFQs and prepare accurate, competitive quotations.
- Source products and obtain competitive supplier pricing.
- Compare pricing, specifications, availability and lead times.
- Calculate costs, markups and gross profit.
- Negotiate supplier pricing and delivery terms.
- Read and interpret technical specifications, BOQs and datasheets.
- Source alternative products where required.
- Track and follow up outstanding quotations.
- Support Sales Representatives and contribute to quote-to-order conversion.
- Verify customer POs against quotations.
- Maintain accurate quotation records and documentation.
- Work closely with Sales, Buying, Logistics and Finance teams.
Requirements
- 3–5 years'' relevant experience, with at least 2 years in quotations, sourcing or technical sales.
- Experience with pumps, valves, motors, bearings, steel, piping, tools, PPE or similar industrial products is advantageous.
- Strong costing, negotiation and supplier-sourcing skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and follow-up skills.
- Matric / Grade 12 essential.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and general computer literacy.
- Experience with quotation/accounting systems is advantageous.
- Own transport and driver''s licence required.
