We are looking for a Quality Inspector with the following qualifications:
Key ResponsibilitiesConduct dimensional and visual inspections of fabricated steel components.
Interpret and read engineering and fabrication drawings accurately.
Inspect and release materials for welding, ensuring fit-up and preparation meet quality standards.
Perform in-process and final inspections throughout the fabrication process.
Complete, verify, and sign off inspection reports and quality documentation.
Ensure all quality records are accurate, complete, and maintained.
Identify non-conformances and work closely with production to ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Verify that completed work complies with project specifications, procedures, and applicable standards.
Perform final quality checks before components are released to the next stage or dispatched to the client.
Liaise with production, supervisors, and client representatives where required.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum 3–5 years' experience as a Quality Inspector in a steel fabrication, structural steel, or construction environment.
Proven experience completing and signing off inspection reports.
Excellent ability to read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings.
Strong understanding of fabrication, welding preparation, and quality inspection processes.
Experience performing dimensional inspections using measuring equipment.
High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
Advantageous
Relevant Quality Inspection qualification or certification.
Experience working to ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
Experience with working on Valterra/Mortimer projects and standards
Knowledge of welding processes and fabrication standards.
Experience working with client quality requirements and inspection documentation.
