JOB PROFILE: Quality Assurance Supervisor

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Quality Management team in Devland, for a QA
Supervisor.
PURPOSE
Ensuring that the Quality Management process is implemented and that the various teams
abide by the Quality Process and Food Safety standards.
KEY COMPETENCIES
Manages the pest control process, by:
ï‚· Investigating Pest Control Reports and verifying concerns.
ï‚· Liaising with the Pest Control Service Providers to address Pest Control Issues.
ï‚· Dealing with Service Providers on site and assisting with on site visit.
ï‚· Ensuring that recommendations from the service provider are actioned.
ï‚· Ensuring close out documentation is completed and filed on record for audit as well
as providing feedback to the QA Manager.
ï‚· Monitoring and updating service records for Providers i.e new technician registration
certificates and monthly service reports.
ï‚· Raising a non-conformance on the database to address negative findings raised in
monthly reports and circulating to affected parties for action.
Maintains the Quality and Food Safety Systems, by:
ï‚· Updating and formulating policy and procedure documentation as well as checklists
to ensure compliance to required standards and regulations.
ï‚· Completing monthly internal audits to monitor compliance across the business.
ï‚· Monthly micro analysis of raw materials, finished good and environmental factors and
raising findings on the non-conformance database to address issues by determining
route cause analysis and necessary corrective action.
ï‚· Training employees on Quality and Food Safety requirements.
ï‚· Review temperature, brix and pH trends and report on trends to the QA Manager.
ï‚· Checking on verification documents completed by designated employees.
ï‚· Investigating customer complaints.
ï‚· Completing cleaning verifications.
Provides support to the Research & Development Team, by:
ï‚· Working with various raw materials to develop new product combinations and
creating samples for tasting.
ï‚· Putting forward suggestions on preservative and additive usage.
ï‚· Completing shelf life testing and reporting on findings to the QA Manager and R&D
Team.
ï‚· Performing sensory evaluations on current products and creating samples for tasting
(Improvements or changes to formulation).

Leading a team, by:
ï‚· Developing and up skilling others.
Purchasing:
ï‚· Liaising with service provider for micro analysis with regard to routine and adhoc
swabs and sampling.
ï‚· Liaising with suppliers of lab equipment and calibration services.
ï‚· Raising of order numbers and communicating with suppliers related to quality
management and food safety.
OUTPUTS
ï‚· A well maintained Quality and Food Safety System.
ï‚· Compliant company policies and procedures regarding Quality and Food Safety.
ï‚· Adequate Pest Control and prevention.
ï‚· Improved finished products and new product development.
ï‚· Competent and trained employees in terms of Quality and Food Safety requirements.
ï‚· Employees are compliant with uniform requirements.
ï‚· Ensure audit findings and issues raised during meetings are closed out
