An opportunity for an independent and objective Quality Assurance Officer to monitor product compliance and drive Integrated Management System compliance in a manufacturing environment.

About Our Client

The client operates manufacturing facilities across two dedicated divisions. The manufacturing environment relates to electrical manufacturing, cable, wiring harness, and plastics industries.

The Role: Quality Assurance Officer

The Quality Assurance Officer is responsible for monitoring and verifying product quality, process compliance, and adherence to the Integrated Management System (IMS). The role involves conducting independent internal audits of physical products, production processes, documentation, and IMS compliance to verify adherence to approved procedures, work instructions, job cards, drawings, customer requirements, and quality standards. Additionally, the role identifies, documents, and reports non-conformities, investigates customer complaints, coordinates corrective actions, and verifies their effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

• Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control within a manufacturing environment.

• Conduct planned and ad hoc internal audits of physical products, production processes, job cards, and IMS procedures.

• Monitor product conformity against drawings, specifications, and customer requirements while controlling non-conforming products.

• Receive, record, and investigate customer quality complaints, identifying root causes and establishing containment actions.

• Administer Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), audit findings, and corrective action requests to verify completion and effectiveness.

• Assist with external audit preparation and monitor compliance with ISO 9001, SANS, and IEC standards.

• Ensure quality records, including audit reports and inspection results, are accurate, complete, traceable, and properly authorised.

About You

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control within a manufacturing environment.

• Relevant qualification in Quality Management, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field.

• Completed Internal Auditor training and working knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements.

• Working knowledge of SANS, IEC, and customer requirements.

• Experience in internal auditing, customer complaint investigation, root-cause analysis, and corrective action processes.

• Strong analytical, investigative, organisational, and written and verbal communication skills.

• High level of independence, objectivity, integrity, ethical conduct, professional assertiveness, and attention to detail.

• Ability to work effectively across two manufacturing facilities and maintain confidentiality.

• Experience in electrical manufacturing, cable, wiring harness, or plastics industries is advantageous.
