Quality Assurance Manager (plastics)

SUMMARY:
Reporting to the General Manager you will be required to manage the quality assurance team and ensure that the department runs reliably and efficiently with the highest levels of quality of products.

POSITION INFO:

Qualifications & Knowledge:

• National Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification
• Diploma in Quality Assurance/Plastic Technology
• Internal auditing certificate
• ISO 9001 and HACCP implementation experience
• 5 years’ Managerial experience in a QA managerial position in the plastics manufacturing industry
• Computer literate and competent in the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of Infinity QS will be an advantage.
• Experience with Syspro will be an advantage
• Other Special Requirements:
• Must be able to travel locally and internationally.
• Must be able to work over weekends and after hours (as required).
• Must have own vehicle and valid drivers licence.
• Should not have a colour vision deficiency

Key Result Areas

• Develop and maintain a quality management strategy and plans for the company.
• Develop, implement and monitor environmental strategies
• Maintenance and calibration of all testing and measuring equipment throughout the plant
• Oversee and maintain all the processes in the quality assurance department.
• Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organisational standards.
• Attend all quality-related meetings at various customers
• Ensure compliance with the ISO Management System.
• Maintain and enforce ISO procedures, documents and policies and ensure
• Ensure compliance to quality control processes in all areas in QA departments
• Continually seek improvement opportunities in waste reduction, manufacturability, quality and performance within our existing product range.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels
• Initiate the planning of preventative maintenance.
• Prepare and present monthly analysis reports for management
• Compile accurate cyclical analysis, reports and presentations
• Maintain and update all relevant documents and reports
• Control costs and look to reduce expenses
• Manage direct reports according to company
• Act as the health and safety representative for the QA and recycling departments
• Oversee Occupational Health and Safety compliance
