QC Lab Technician

POSITION INFO:
Qualification

Bachelor of Science Degree or Diploma in Food or Chemical Science or Technology

Requirements

Quality Control and Lab Testing experience in a malting plant or brewery
Malting-testing experience such as moisture, total nitrogen, germination capacity and energy
Standard Chemical and Physical Analyses
Practical experience and knowledge of FSSC 22000 / BRC / AIB Standards
Equipment experience including NIR (Near Infrared Reflectance), Friability Meter, Mash Baths, etc.

Duties

Analyze Raw materials (malt and hops)
Analyze moisture content, extract, damage index, colour, concentration and sensory (taste)
Analyze wort for Limit of Extract (LE) and alpha-glucans
Collect yeast and Made Yeast cake to use for fermentation and monitor fermentation stages
Experience with laboratory software
Understanding of quality control and assurance processes.
Ability to interpret and analyze data accurately
Adherence to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Calibration and validation of laboratory equipment

Practical experience and knowledge of FSSC 22000/BRC/AIB
