JOB DESCRIPTION:

Minimum requirements:

Grade 12 (Matric) preferably with mathematics
5 years’ relevant experience in the food industry.
Strong administration skills.
Basic Mathematics understanding.
Good communication skills.
Understands production targets and outputs from people.
Ability to read and write English.

Able to work accurately with high volumes of work.
Deadline driven.
Able to work under pressure.
Be able to motivate and lead people.

Duties and responsibilities amongst others:

Obtain orders for the day and ensure production planning is done accordingly to ensure all orders are filled on time according cut-off times.
Ensure production schedules are communicated to Team Leader, Packaging and Operations at the start of shift and that it is executed as per scheduled times.
Be available on the floor during the day and do spot checks on lines to review efficiency, quality, and accuracy of work according to production schedule.
Check where teams are under pressure and falling behind schedule, ensure these teams are assisted to get back on track.
Assist Team Leader with any issues picked up on the line.
Check final product packed against order and ensure there are no shorts (any shorts need to be reported as soon as possible) and the order has been packed correctly, according to specifications (label, sell-by date, price, etc.).
Ensure PO numbers and DC are correctly completed on the production sheet.
Do final check on productions sheet and sign off if it is correct – any issues picked up must be corrected by the Team Leader before sent to Staging.
Ensure minimal wastage in the area responsible for (issues to be reported immediately) and zero for packaging.
Provide positive cooperation to other departments.
Review work methods and suggested possible improvements where needed.
Ensure that the allocated area complies with food safety and hygiene standards.
Ensure staff compliance to the personal hygiene code of practice.
Manage people in section:
- Responsible for taking action on the absence or disciplinary reported.
- Ensure all staff are working productively.
Ensuring proper housekeeping of production areas at all times, e.g.:
- No lugs or products on the floor.
- Cleanliness of work area all the times.
- Product stacked properly.
- No empty crates on top of products.
- Bins are emptied regularly and at the end of the shift.
- Work areas cleaned at the end of the shift.
Deputize for other supervisors who are absent.
Responsible for training of staff on the lines.
