Production Supervisor (Automotive)

SUMMARY:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
Diploma in Operations Management or related qualification or Engineering Diploma
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
Bachelor’s degree in operations management or related qualification
EXPERIENCE
At least 5 years relevant experience at a Production Supervisory role in Automotive or Manufacturing or related field

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
Understands manufacturing processes, including equipment operation, material handling, and production
scheduling.
- Familiar with safety protocols and regulatory requirements in a manufacturing environment, including
knowledge of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and equipment operation licenses.
- Proficient in generating and interpreting production reports, including tracking attendance, output,
downtime, and other key performance metrics.
- Good understanding in operating relevant machinery and equipment used in the Weld Assembly production
process,
- Sound understanding of equipment maintenance requirements and the ability to identify and report
maintenance issues to the appropriate teams.
- Sound Employee and Industrial Relations knowledge.
- Participate in projects where required.
- Basic business and financial acumen
- Experience with preventative maintenance planning.
- Knowledge of Microsoft applications, with intermediate Excel
- Woking knowledge of ISO 9001 and 14001, ITAF 16949
- Sound working knowledge of Production principles.

DUTIES
Plan, coordinate and supervise all daily production operations.
- Ensures all customer requirements are achieved within the specified times, quality and quantity requirements.
- Report on Production key performance metrics.
- Ensures that all machinery is used optimally and in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Minimise wastage and ensure efficient loss control (part defects, loss time, material loss, manpower loss)
- Identify and investigate the root cause for all defective parts and proactive resolution of all defects.
- Communicates/Reports any equipment /system issues and malfunctions and equipment breakdowns and ensures downtime is minimised.
- Develops, maintains and ensures adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, customer service and cost savings.
- Ensure on the job and machine training to enhance skills and competencies.
- Implementation of Health and Safety Standards
- Supervise employees, coordinate the scheduling of work tasks and ensures adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
Conducts quality testing on completed assemblies to validate tolerances and product specifications.
- Collaborating with other departments such as procurement, logistics, and quality control to ensure a seamless production process
