Position : Production Supervisor

Location : Bloemfontein

Annual Sallary : R200000

South African Citizen

Drivers License - own transport

Role Purpose

Oversee and coordinate the manufacturing and production of animal feed and to ensure that all feed is produced safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality, regulatory, and food‑safety standards.

Experience

• National Senior Certificate (NQF 4) or equivalent

• Feed Miller Certification

• Minimum 5 years’ supervisory experience in a feed production facility

Technical Skills

• MS Outlook – Intermediate

• MS Excel – Intermediate

• MS Word – Intermediate

• SharePoint – Intermediate

• Excellent knowledge of animal feed production processes

• Strong understanding of quality control measures

• Knowledge of preventative maintenance principles

• Understanding of ISO 22000, Act 36 (Agriculture), and farm feed regulations

Key Responsibilities

People Management

• Lead and develop the production team to achieve departmental objectives

• Ensure staffing structure and skills meet operational needs

• Manage performance and drive productivity

Strategic Planning

• Set and implement short‑ and long‑term departmental goals aligned with company strategy

• Identify and support training and development needs of subordinates

• Maintain a clean, hazard‑free work environment

• Ensure compliance with OHS procedures and reporting of unsafe conditions

• Ensure permits are completed for high‑risk operations

Quality & Food Safety

• Ensure compliance with all food‑safety policies and procedures

• Prevent, control, and detect potential contaminants

• Maintain cleaning and pest‑control programs

• Ensure traceability and recall readiness

• Drive continuous improvement of the Food Safety Management System

Production Management

• Ensure safe and efficient production of feed products

• Achieve production targets and maintain product quality

• Monitor pelleting processes (conditioning, temperature, pellet quality)

• Oversee production planning (daily/weekly/monthly)

• Analyze production data and implement improvements

• Ensure correct use and recording of rework

• Oversee bagging and scanning operations

Maintenance Coordination

• Schedule and coordinate preventative maintenance with the maintenance team
