SUMMARY:
To plan and optimise production processes to maintain minimum stock balance, achieve customer service levels and meet company objectives.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

National Diploma/Degree – Industrial Engineering, Production/Manufacturing Management or similar discipline
Minimum 2 years’ working experience in Automotive Industry
Minimum 2 years’ working experience in Operational Management in a motor industry manufacturing environment
Product, production & process knowledge
Knowledge of Customer Specific Requirements
Knowledge of Production Planning techniques
Knowledge of Capacity planning
Knowledge of Overall Equipment Effectiveness
Knowledge of Material management
Knowledge of MRP systems
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing
Knowledge of Problem-Solving techniques
Knowledge of Quality standards & ISO systems

Process Control:

Receive customer releases and capture / upload in ERP.
• Schedule and monitor production
• Update the daily production plan based on changes in customer requirement, material and manufacturing constraints
• Communicate the production schedules to the relevant stakeholders
• Conduct MRP maintenance (demand and supply alignment)
• Plan and maintain finished goods stock days and report daily on the status (shortages / overstocked

Planning:

ERP Job card release to cover daily requirements
• Assist in planning, organising and supporting production meetings and workshops
• KPI administration: assist in implementing, reviewing and updating production objectives (internal, management & customer targets)
• CIP: Monitor, administer and report plant CIP activities and process improvement (implement continuous improvement initiatives)

Production Management:

Optimise the production process
• Report on manufacturing and production efficiencies
• Ensure optimal and efficient use of resources
• Monitor the achievement of daily production target and set back-to-track plan
• Analyse daily variances and identify opportunities for improvements

Raw Material:

Monitor the level of production material to ensure sufficient material to support production
• Identify and process waste
• Conduct stock take
