JOB DESCRIPTION:

PRODUCTION MANAGER

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Ensure that manufacturing processes run reliably and efficiently. Working together with supervisors and top management, to ensure that products are manufactured to a certain quality standard and adheres to other safety/industry-related regulations

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage all resources and ensure that the factory maintains production of finished products at the required quality and efficiency level

Manage the production schedule for pre-batching, blending, milling, packing, steam treatment and Sachet Machine.

Generate production plan according to back order and stock requirements

Prioritise and inform Production Coordinator which works orders are to be picked for the day to ensure optimisation of the blending machines capacities

Ensure production coordinator, packaging and labelling supervisor receive the works order to ensure accurate labels printed in right quantity whilst production is under way

Capture works orders upon complete and ensure accuracy by conducting detailed reconciliations

Report any whole goods stock shortages to stock controller

Generate daily production report

Responsible for accurate monthly reporting of all production figures

Attend monthly food safety review and Food Safety Committee Meeting and ensure that all required actions identified during these meetings are implemented timeously as required

Attend to all other required duties as prescribed by the ISO 22000 system

Ensure food safety standards are met and other required rules and policies are adhered to at all times

Investigate non-conformances, conduct root cause analysis and implement necessary corrective action

Maintain a safe and healthy working environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures required by legislation:

Any other applicable legislation or legal requirement relevant to our industry

You may be required from time to time to assist in other areas of the organisation as operationally required.

REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE

Minimum Matric / Grade 12

Diploma or any similar production or operational qualification

Knowledge of recipe legal compliance

Minimum 5 years solid working experience within a manufacturing / production environment

Strong computer skills (MS Office, Excel)

Previous supervisor skills will be highly recommended

Excellent communication skill on all levels

Ability to work independently and under pressure

Own transport essential

Be available to work night shift if and when required

Fully bilingual (Afrikaans & English) or any third language will be highly recommended
