Production Manager

Our client is seeking to employ the services of a production manager within the Paarden Eiland area, Cape Town.

The Production Manager will be accountable for the efficient running of the Cape Town production. This area oversees the metal production (mainly pewter), assembly of stainless steel and aluminum products. This role is responsible for production, assembly, repairs and polishing with a focus on quality control of finished goods.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Productivity & Quality operation: Plan, organize and lead the factory team to achieve the agreed objectives (safety, environment, quality, cost and service). This includes all production – pewter casting and assembly, repairs and polishing.

Proactively drive focused improvement in production, quality and efficiencies

Work close with Quality control Team and Operations to ensure timely delivery of goods

Ensure adherence to all Company principles and policies as well as local laws and regulations.

Comply to health, safety and regulatory requirements of all products manufactured – including all factory and operational compliance ISO / other

Liaise with the farm production on delivery and improvements Product Development (Existing and New)

Liaise with the Art Department, Merchandising and Planning to ensure continuous development of product

Drive innovation and efficiency through focus on newness – planning for new capability in machinery or investment into new staff capabilities Maintenance and outsourcing:

Responsible for all maintenance and safety standards for equipment and staff training

Responsible for outsourcing production or finding new suppliers to drive quality and cost efficiency Team management & stakeholder engagement:

Develop factory management team and staff through performance management, career development, succession planning and coaching and applied by other managers within the factory

Effectively manage Employee and Industrial Relations to ensure smooth operations

Collaborate with peer factory managers to share best practices

Build and maintain positive community relations

Implement full aspects TPM (or any similar productivity process) on all lines according to a structured and agreed plan by the Business and Head of Production

All other duties as assigned by line manager

Minimum requirements

Experience years type explanation 5-8 years’ experience of manufacturing/factory environment and of which at least 3 in a senior supervisory capacity.

Basic knowledge of Engineering, Quality, Costing, Supply Chain, Product and Process

Knowledge of materials and suppliers

Quality, SHE and Engineering procedures and tools including systems; Regulatory Affairs; Demand and Supply Planning processes

Bachelor''''s Degree/ N6 (will be considered)

Computer literacy Advanced

Valid RSA driver’s license

 Willing to travel

No flying or travel restrictions (health or legal)

Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

SALARY: R35 000- R40 000 per month
