Production Clerk

SUMMARY:
Our client in the food manufacturing and FMCG industry is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Production Clerk to join their Production Department in Montague Gardens, Cape Town.
The successful candidate will assist with production planning, product labelling, stock and inventory control, production administration and manufacturing records.

• Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in manufacturing and data capturing.
• Experience in inventory control, production administration, logistics or supply chain.
• A qualification or minimum 2 years' experience in Inventory Management, Production Administration, Logistics or Supply Chain will be advantageous.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Experience with BOMs and production backflushing.
• Knowledge of inventory control, production, batch traceability, GMP, Food Safety and FIFO.
• Computer literacy with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Knowledge of ERP/PICK.
• Good numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate leadership when required.
• Honest, reliable, self-motivated and adaptable.
• Accountable and committed to scheduled working hours.
• Excellent attendance and punctuality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate production plans and assist with production scheduling.
• Prepare labels for all products manufactured.
• Check that labels have the correct product description, product code, batch number, date received or manufactured, expiry/best-before date where applicable and traceability information.
• Check label accuracy before release and ensure labelling follows company procedures.
• Record all raw materials received.
• Control the issuing of raw materials to production.
• Maintain accurate stock records and investigate stock discrepancies.
• Maintain FIFO stock control.
• Maintain production records and check production documentation.
• File production paperwork.
• Assist production supervisors.
• Maintain product and material traceability.
• Stand in to backflush raw materials against approved recipes.
• Process BOMs accurately and confirm quantities.
• Correct transaction errors and close production batches accurately.
• Participate in monthly and annual stock counts.
• Count and record inventory accurately and assist with investigating stock variances.
• Assist with production activities as required.
• Maintain good housekeeping.
• Follow GMP, Food Safety and Health & Safety procedures.
