The Role: Principal EICA Design Engineer
As Principal EICA Design Engineer, you’ll play a critical leadership role within a multi-disciplinary team, delivering design solutions across water treatment, distribution, wastewater recycling, and flood defence projects. You’ll be responsible for managing EICA designs from feasibility through construction, ensuring technical excellence, safety, and innovation throughout the lifecycle of each project.
Key Responsibilities

Interpret and challenge project requirements from client documentation.

Lead the design of electrical and control systems, including MCCs, power distribution models, and instrumentation.

Prepare specifications, calculations, CAD drawings, and design schedules.

Coordinate and oversee surveys, subcontractor inputs, and supplier design reviews.

Ensure compliance with industry standards, QA processes, OHSA, ISO, and other international safety regulations.

Manage project schedules, budgets, and design quality.

Provide technical guidance during installation and commissioning phases.

Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.

Represent and present technical solutions to clients and stakeholders.
About You
-
Registered as a PR Eng or PR Tech with ECSA.

BTech/BSc in Electrical, Instrumentation, Control or Automation Engineering.

Minimum 12 years’ experience in water/wastewater project design, including treatment plants and pumping stations.

Strong understanding of water sector standards and multidisciplinary design integration.

Proficient in ElectricalOM and CAD software; MS Office suite skills essential.

Experienced in managing complex projects and technical teams.

Excellent English communication skills and collaborative mindset.
