SUMMARY:
Role Overview:

Our client, a leading South African ICT services provider, is seeking a Pre-Sales Engineer with strong expertise in Microsoft and Storage solutions. In this role, you will bridge the gap between technical expertise and client engagement, collaborating closely with sales teams to understand customer needs and design strategic, value-driven solutions.
You’ll be responsible for crafting and presenting solution designs across the Microsoft ecosystem — including Azure, Microsoft 365, and Dynamics 365 — while also architecting secure and scalable storage infrastructures across on-premise, hybrid, and cloud environments.
This is a high-impact role within a fast-paced team delivering secure, scalable, and cost-effective solutions across cloud, data centre, security, and digital platforms.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

Understanding Client Needs: Collaborate with sales to identify client requirements and challenges.
Solution Design: Design and propose tailored server, storage, and cloud solutions.
Presentation and Demonstration: Deliver compelling presentations and demonstrations of solutions.
Proposal and Documentation: Assist in preparing technical proposals, documentation, and RFPs/RFIs.
Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and support throughout the sales process.
Proof-of-Concept: May be involved in creating and testing proof-of-concept implementations.
Competitive Analysis: Understand and articulate the value proposition of Microsoft and storage solutions compared to competitors.
Client Engagement: Build strong relationships with clients, both technical and non-technical.

Skills & Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years’ experience in ICT pre-sales or technical solution design
Solid expertise in Microsoft technologies (Azure, Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365)
Strong understanding of enterprise storage solutions (on-prem, hybrid, and cloud)
Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect or equivalent (preferred)
Familiarity with major storage vendors (e.g. Dell, HPE, NetApp)
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Proficient in technical documentation, proposal input, and solution presentations
