Plasma/Profile cutting expeditor

SUMMARY:
Our client in JHB is looking for a Plasma/Profile Cutting Expeditor to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing orders, coordinating schedules, and ensuring smooth operations between production, sales, and logistics.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities

1. Order Management: Oversee customer orders and ensure specifications and requirements are met.
2. Scheduling: Coordinate and schedule production and deliveries to meet deadlines.
3. Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels of raw materials and finished products; initiate replenishment where needed.
4. Communication: Act as the link between customers, production, and suppliers to ensure clear updates on order status and timelines.
5. Problem Solving: Resolve production or delivery challenges such as delays, shortages, or quality concerns.
6. Documentation: Maintain accurate order records, inventory logs, and production schedules.
7. Quality Assurance: Collaborate with QC teams to confirm all products meet required standards before dispatch.
8. Cost Management: Track and help control costs related to production and delivery.
9. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and boost efficiency.
10. Collaboration: Work with sales, production, and transport teams to ensure alignment across operations.

• 1–2 years’ experience in a steel service centre (cut-to-size environment)
• Knowledge of plasma/profile cutting processes
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to problem-solve and manage multiple priorities
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) or similar systems
• Matric (relevant tertiary/technical qualification is an advantage)
