SUMMARY:
Bilnor Staffing Solutions' client is looking for a qualified Piling Rig operator for position in Witbank MP and JHB, GP. South African citizens and those living in the area will be preferred.
POSITION INFO:
Piling Rig Operator (CFA / ACIS / Percussion/DTH Specialist)
Reports To:
Piling Superintendent / Site Manager / Piling Foreman
Job Purpose:
To safely and efficiently operate Casagrande (B125, B170, B180, B250) and Bauer (BG28, MG48) piling rigs to install deep foundation piles including CFA, ACIS, and Percussion / DTH
piles in accordance with project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Rig Operation & Piling Execution:
- Operate rigs for CFA, Temporary Cased, ACIS, and DTH piling.
- Set up rig alignment and positioning.
- Control drilling parameters and ensure pile accuracy.
- Monitor concreting and reinforcement placement.
2. Method-Specific Operations:
- CFA: Drill and pump concrete.
- Temporary Casing: Install/extract casing for bore stability.
- DTH/Percussion: Operate hammer systems in rock conditions.
- Core drilling
- Tremie concrete
Understand the requirements for different drill tools for different soil conditions.
3. Machine Setup & Maintenance: - Perform daily inspections. - Check hydraulics, winches, rotary head, and safety systems. - Report faults and assist maintenance teams.
4. Safety & Compliance: - Follow HSE procedures and method statements. - Maintain safe working zones. - Identify overhead electrical cables and request the foreman to identified all underground
services before drilling.
5. Quality Control: - Record pile depth, volume, and drilling parameters. - Ensure compliance with specifications.
6. Team Coordination: - Work with supervisors, and crew. - Direct assistants during operations.
Minimum Requirements: - Experience: - Minimum 5 years operating piling rigs (Bauer/Casagrande preferred).
- Experience in CFA, ACIS, and DTH drilling.
Qualifications: Certified operator (CPCS/NPORS or equivalent).
Valid operator license.
Safety training certifications.
Skills: Understanding of soil and rock behavior.
Troubleshooting and mechanical knowledge.
Good communication and teamwork.
