POSITION INFO:
My client an Industry Leader in E-Commerce requires a competent and experienced Photographic Retoucher to join their team in Cape Town CBD.
CORE PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The aim of this role is to work collaboratively with the studio team, photographers & QA (Quality Assurance) to ensure we achieve the desired quality images ready for clients across multiple channels.
· Experienced retoucher accustomed to high volumes of product images for e-commerce or print with a clear understanding of working in a non-destructive image workflow.
REQUIREMENTS:
· At least (3) years of experience with Photography Retouching ESSENTIAL
· Bachelor’s Degree in Graphics Design, Visual Arts, and/or other related
· Advanced skill level in Photoshop selection, extraction, and masking/clipping techniques.ESSENTIAL
· Minimum 2 years of work experience editing images for eCommerce.
· Exposure to product photography and digital enhancements.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
· Adobe Photoshop Experienced and up to date - selection, extraction, tonal and colour manipulation tools and techniques
· Good understanding of photographic lighting qualities and how they affect products and surfaces, also how to enhance and/or manipulate lighting.
· Edit product photography for use in e-commerce, including color correction, removing backgrounds, clipping, cleaning up imperfections on products, and adding shadows or reflections as needed.
· Utilise masking, selections, adjustment layers, custom curves, channels, and layer masks.
· Isolating product photos, clean up, correct verticals, deep-etch images, save output formats specifications. · Retouching imperfections
· Match density and colour across all product angles, and across a product range – important
· Fine colour correction to match reflective surfaces
· Following of image briefs as per client and image specifications (reference images)
Following QA specifications and feedback to always ensure the highest quality.
· Fast and consistent work speed without jeopardizing quality.
· Follow a non-destructive way of working by using adjustment layers.
· Maintaining photo asset workflow standards including file naming conventions and file management
· Prioritizing multiple projects at a time ·
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
· Image Quality - Cleaning product imperfections, aligning verticals, colour and tonal correcting and deep etching of digital images.
· Compositing/Enhancing multiple elements needed to create a final image and bringing these elements together smoothly. (Retouch angles/Plates).
· Interpretation / Implementation of retouch briefs for general imagery or creative/high end jobs.
· Image Quality / Consistency - Applying and adhering to image specifications.
· Communication (verbal and written), meeting Due Dates of jobs / collaborate
· Image Quality - low rejection rate, Quick turn-around time on rejections.
· Good file and folder management. (Housekeeping).
