SUMMARY:
We are looking for an People Consultant to support our Human Resources department. You will act as the first point of contact for HR-related queries from internal and external candidates.

We are looking for an People Consultant to support our Human Resources department. You will act as the first point of contact for HR-related queries from internal and external candidates.

The detail:

Employee Files:

  • Processing all documents relating to new starters onboarding, promotions and internal transfers.
  • Issue and educate employees on employment contracts and clauses therein.
  • Draft and/or amend employment contracts.
  • Maintain employee files in line with audit requirements.

Discipline and Terminations:

  • Conduct exit interviews, follow the offboarding process and resolve grievances which arise.
  • Issue appropriate discipline, prepare disciplinary documentation, ensure the correct process is followed, minute the hearing.
  • Prepare ill-health documentation, issue appropriate discipline ensuring the correct process is followed, minute consultation.
  • Prepare and attend CCMA cases as Company Representative (both at Conciliation and Arbitration stages).
  • Monitor all employees’ attendance on a daily basis and issue appropriate discipline, report weekly on discipline issued in relation to timekeeping and attendance.

Reporting:

  • Report on employee attendance and discipline issued.
  • Report on terminations on a weekly basis.
  • Report on terminations, attrition and issues identified and solved on a monthly basis.
  • Develop and maintain effective inter-department working relationships.

General:

  • Assist employees and management with HR/IR queries.
  • Assist with salary and commission queries.
  • Responsible for policy and procedure outcomes and deliverables.
  • Assist with IOD.
  • Assist payroll with ad-hoc duties.
  • Provide ad-hoc support to the HRM.

 Are you this person?

  • This role is based in Umhlanga. Are you able to travel to Umhlanga daily?
  • There are two positions available, one day shift and one night shift. Which would better suit you?
  • Are you in possession of a Human Resources related degree?
  • Do you have at least 1 year proven work experience as an HR Consultant, HR Officer or relevant role?
  • Ready to brag about your experience with HR software?
  • Do you know your way around the world of Microsoft Office?
  • Are you confident in your knowledge of current labour laws?
  • Excellent organizational skills, great communicator, conflict and change management experience – does this sound like you?
  • Are you as fanatical about the detail as we are?
  • The bonus points! – HR experience within a call centre environment.
