Painting Supervisor – (Rustenburg)

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate the work of painters in the workshop.
• Ensure correct surface preparation and steel-painting processes are followed.
• Conduct paint-thickness measurements using appropriate inspection tools and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Perform quality inspections and complete sign-off reports for finished painting work.
• Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and provide regular feedback to management on job status.
• Manage paint stock levels, conduct stock-takes, and arrange ordering of paint and related materials when required.
• Ensure all painting work is completed safely and in accordance with internal procedures and quality standards.
• Monitor productivity and ensure projects remain on schedule.

Minimum Requirements:

• Proven experience in steel painting within a construction or engineering environment.
• Previous supervisory experience managing painting teams.
• Experience with paint inspection and report sign-offs.
• Knowledge of paint-thickness measurement tools (e.g., DFT gauges).
• Experience with stock control and ordering of paint/materials.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to provide accurate progress feedback to management.

Advantageous:

• Knowledge of industrial coating systems and quality standards.
• Experience working with client inspections or third-party inspectors.
