Packaging & Quality Co-Ordinator

SUMMARY:
Purpose of the position To inspect and verify that all-incoming packaging materials conforms to prescribed specifications, and to ensure that no non-conforming are detected before it is taken into stock.

POSITION INFO:

Purpose of the position

To inspect and verify that all-incoming packaging materials conforms to prescribed specifications, and to ensure that no non-conforming are detected before it is taken into stock.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Testing of packaging material for conformance to specification.

• Participate actively in performing routine/scheduled BRCGS audits & risk assessment with Quality Manager, QMS – coordinator & audit team.

• Perform start up verification checks on process control in the printing department.

• Product traceability & retention

• Monthly Reporting

• Liaise with Warehouse/procurement & finance department on items rejected and to be returned to suppliers.

• Liaise with Quality Manager w.r.t to non-conforming packaging materials and ensure procedures are followed.

• Assist with carry out problem solving exercises when Quality related problems occur, either with deliveries, printing, warehousing, or customer complaints in accordance with BRCGS Quality system.

Requirements:

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Packaging Technology (degree or diploma)
• Working knowledge of/experience in Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, 14000, HACCP, BRC,)
• Competent in administration of a wide variety of office tasks
• Computer literate in the MS Office package.
• Ability to work under pressure and accurately while paying attention to detail
• Sound problem-solving abilities.
• Proven verbal and written communication skills
• Sound interpersonal skills
• Creativity that enhances continuous improvement is a pre-requisiteMarket
