PRODUCT RETURNS SUPERVISOR/TECHNICIAN (ELECTRICAL)

SUMMARY:
Performing electrical testing and related work on products within the CBI portfolio. The work will be done in support of Product Returns activities, i.e., product failure evaluation and reporting, as well as management of customer/product returns and product failure data.

Main Responsibilities

The work and responsibilities of the Test Supervisor/Technician will cover a range of test activities the following duties: -

• Applying test methods and procedures specified to achieve the required accuracy and repeatability in testing a range of product parameters.
• Focusing on tests to verify the functional and physical attributes of the products returned by customers.
• Participate in compiling and updating test requirements, specifications and procedures used within the Product Returns department.
• Ensure that equipment and instruments are maintained in good working order.
• Initiate failure diagnostic processes as required for customer and production support.
• Ensure that all product returns data is captured accurately and timeously.
• Report to management on a weekly and monthly basis regarding failure trends and returns data.
• Liaise with customers as required.
• Ensure that any customer feedback is accurate and conducted in a professional manner.
• Assist with maintaining the quality management system in accordance to ISO 9001 within the department.
• Supervising and training of staff assigned to the department.
• Responsible for the effective operation of the department and its staff.
• Apply the prescribed company security and housekeeping rules at all times.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations when operating tools, instruments and equipment.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Senior Certificate).
• B.Tech or National Diploma in electrical or electro-technical engineering.
• Ideally, the incumbent requires 2-3 years’ experience in a similar test or lab environment.
• Thorough knowledge of test methodologies and techniques.
• Good working knowledge of general-purpose office software.
• Knowledge in the safe use of HV and LV systems.
