POSITION INFO:
Purpose of the role:
The PABX Technician’s role is to install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot private branch exchange (PABX/PBX) systems—particularly Yeastar and Samsung platforms—along with associated VoIP, networking, and cabling infrastructure to ensure reliable voice and data communication for business clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Programming, installation and maintenance of PABX systems
- Conduct site survey before installations
- Troubleshooting on PABX
- Configuration of ADSL, VoIP, WIFI, 3G routers
- Set up of IP PBX VoIP network
- SIP Trunks and VOIP installations
- Installations and troubleshooting of cabling infrastructure
- Voice Over IP network maintenance
- Connectivity - Fiber, Microwave links and LTE
- Data cabling and voice cabling
- Configuration of voicemail, auto attendant, spnet, least cost routing (LCR), ring plans as well as voice and data integration
- Voice and Data integration
- Troubleshooting in a networking infrastructure
- Conduct fault finding analysis
- Upon completion of full installation, handover must be completed with the client/customer
- Up to date with H&S regulations and SOP’s (standard operating procedures)
- Communicate with customers to explain problems and procedures with the equipment
- Responsible for all boot stock allocated to you
- To ensure that the Service Coordinator is given accurate information relating to service calls and installations
Qualifications/Experience:
- Minimum Grade 12
- Valid Driver’s License
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience as a PABX Technician
- Must have experience working on Yeastar & Samsung systems
- Experience in office automation Industry
