Role Overview

The Operations Manager will be primarily responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of recycling programs within an organization. The role will involve developing and implementing strategies to improve recycling efficiency, reduce waste, implement clear commodity trading strategies,  and promote sustainability. The role will also be responsible for managing the recycling team, coordinating with external vendors, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage operations in alignment with the Service Level Agreements
• Strong knowledge of recycling processes, waste management, and environmental regulations.
• Manage drivers and logistics for the entity using the Interwaste Logistics System in conjunction with Cartrack.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills to plan and coordinate recycling programs effectively.
• Manage time and attendance in alignment with the respective Service Level Agreements with our clients.
• Manage and oversee the quality of incoming recyclables in alignment the Interwaste Quality system
• Strong leadership and team management abilities to motivate and supervise recycling staff.
• Analytical skills to monitor recycling data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and the community.
• Problem-solving skills to address operational challenges, optimize recycling processes, and find innovative solutions.
• Strong Understanding of the OHS Act
• Manage and address customer complaints and queries

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor''s degree in Environmental Science, Project Management, or a related field.
• Previous working experience in a similar field, will be advantageous
• Knowledge of logistics systems, Zula and Cartrack
• Experience in ISO9001 and 45001
• Proven experience in managing recycling programs and implementing waste management initiatives.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal recycling regulations and compliance requirements.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent time management skill
• Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel)
• Strong admin and organisational skills
