Location: Germiston, Gauteng
Salary: R30,000 - R35,000 CTC

POSITION INFO:
Our client, a provider of integrated logistics and supply chain solutions, is looking for an experienced Operations Coordinator to oversee and coordinate daily operational activities across the business. The successful candidate will ensure operational excellence, drive process improvements, maintain strong client relationships, and lead a high-performing operations team

Minimum requirements:

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
• 7–10 years' experience within the freight forwarding and supply chain industry
• Proven experience managing and leading operational teams
• Strong understanding of freight forwarding, customs processes, transport operations, and supply chain management
• Experience implementing or supporting freight and logistics systems
• Strong commercial awareness and customer service focus
• Experience negotiating with suppliers and service providers
• Excellent planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP ERP

• Coordinate and oversee daily logistics and freight forwarding operations
• Plan and allocate workloads to ensure operational efficiency and productivity
• Monitor shipments and proactively resolve delays or operational disruptions
• Ensure all operational documentation is accurate, compliant, and audit-ready
• Drive continuous process improvements to optimise operational performance
• Monitor operational KPIs and prepare management reports
• Assist with departmental forecasting and budgeting
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations, shipping legislation, quality standards, and company procedures
• Lead, mentor, and develop the operations team through regular performance managemen

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, transporters, carriers, customs authorities, and suppliers
• Serve as the primary point of contact for key customer accounts
• Ensure exceptional service delivery and client satisfaction
• Resolve escalated operational issues efficiently
• Participate in customer business reviews and identify opportunities for service improvements
• Work closely with finance to ensure accurate client and supplier billing

• Identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling services
• Analyse operational risks and develop contingency plans
• Support business growth through proactive customer engagement and lead generation

• Investigate and resolve shipment delays, damages, and customer queries
• Ensure all customer queries are acknowledged within agreed service levels
• Resolve operational issues within established turnaround times
• Communicate proactively with customers regarding service updates and potential risks

• Ensure compliance with company policies and operational procedures
• Maintain accurate operational records and reporting
• Identify cost-saving initiatives while maintaining service excellence
