SUMMARY:
A growthâfocused retail and supplyâchain business has created a new Operations Accountant role to support its expanding fuel and supplyâchain operations. This position partners closely with senior management, delivering operational finance insight, reporting, and control across a multiâbranch environment. This position is best suited to a commercially minded accountant who thrives in a handsâon, operational setting and enjoys driving efficiencies and continuous improvement

POSITION INFO:

Analyse and report financial performance against agreed targets
Compile accurate monthly management and operational reports
Coordinate annual branch budgets and capital expenditure planning
Perform financial feasibility studies and cost analysis for new projects and infrastructure
Provide decision support and strategic input to senior management and operational stakeholders
Ensure branchâlevel financial controls are implemented and maintained in line with company policy
Support optimization of retail and supplyâchain networks
Advise internal stakeholders on financial systems and applications
Manage and support the annual external audit process
Ensure stock counts are conducted in line with policy and investigate / report variances
Drive the collection, analysis and reporting of operational business information
Assist, train and upskill branch staff on financial systems, policies and procedures
Ensure ongoing risk management, governance and legal compliance
Initiate and drive continuous improvement and system enhancements
Perform regular remote and onâsite evaluations of branch controls

Skills & Experience:
Minimum 4 years experience in a similar operations or management accounting role
Background within Retail, Supply Chain, Agri or FMCG environments - essential
Advanced Excel expertise (macros, pivots, formulas, lookups)
Strong analytical capability with a handsâon, solutionsâdriven mindset
Confident stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Comfortable operating in a multiâbranch, operational environment

Qualification:
Completed BCom Degree OR CIMA qualification
