POSITION INFO:
The best operational finance professionals don’t sit on the sidelines - they become part of the engine that drives the business forward. A growing organisation within the life sciences sector is looking for an Operations Accountant to join its Johannesburg North team.

This opportunity is ideal for a commercially aware finance professional who enjoys working closely with operations, understanding how the business functions day-to-day, and using financial insight to improve performance, efficiency, and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Partnering closely with operational teams to support business performance and efficiency
Preparing management accounts and operational financial reports
Monitoring operational costs and identifying opportunities for improvement
Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Assisting with operational planning and performance reporting
Ensuring that financial controls and compliance processes are maintained
Analysing operational and financial data to support business decisions
Assisting with process improvements and workflow efficiencies across the business
Supporting month-end and reporting requirements within the finance team

Job Experience and Skills Required:

BCom Accounting / Finance preferred
National Diploma considered for a strong operationally-focused candidate
Proven accounting experience within an operational or commercial environment
Strong management accounting and analytical capability
Operationally inclined with strong business acumen
Strong Excel and systems capability
Ability to engage confidently with operational stakeholders

Hands-on, proactive, and solutions-focused
Ability to work independently and take ownership
