SUMMARY:

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Operational Accountant to join a dynamic and fast-paced organisation. This role is ideal for a finance professional with a solid foundation in accounting, strong operational exposure, and a proactive approach to improving financial processes and controls.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day financial operations, including general ledger, reconciliations, and journals
Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports
Monitor and analyse operational costs, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements
Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions
Assist with audit processes and liaise with external auditors
Support business units with financial insights and operational reporting

Requirements

BCom Degree in Accounting or related field (essential)
Completed SAICA/SAIPA articles
Minimum of 5 years’ relevant accounting experience
Strong understanding of financial operations and reporting
Proficiency in accounting systems (ERP experience advantageous)
Advanced Excel skills
