Oncology Practice Manager - Pretoria

SUMMARY:
A specialist oncology practice dedicated to providing exceptional care and support to patients undergoing cancer treatment requires an experienced and highly organised Practice Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the medical practice. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can effectively manage complex administrative processes, coordinate patient services, and ensure the smooth functioning of the practice in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum requirements for the role:

• Previous experience having worked within an oncology, specialist, acute or related medical healthcare environment is preferred for the role.
• A relevant tertiary qualification in Healthcare Administration or Practice Management or Business Administration or a related field is preferred but not essential.
• The Practice is also happy to consider a nurse who does not have Practice Management experience but would like the opportunity to do this role.
• Must be computer literate, with strong computer skills and experience using practice management systems.
• Previous experience working on Vericlaim is preferred but not essential.
• Strong understanding of medical practice administration and operational management.
• Experience liaising with medical aids and managing authorisation processes is pref.
• Excellent organisational, time management and administrative skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to prioritise effectively and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to work in a demanding, fast-paced, and pressurised environment.
• Demonstrated commitment to patient-centred service delivery.

• Effectively managing complex administrative processes, coordinating patient services, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the practice in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Coordinating and managing patient consultations, treatment schedules, follow-up appointments, patient communications and appointment reminders, while tracking patient requirements and progress and serving as a professional, compassionate point of contact for patients and their families throughout their treatment journey.
• Ensuring all patient records, documentation, and correspondence are maintained accurately and confidentially, and implementing and maintaining practice policies and procedures.
• Utilising the Vericlaim system for account management and claims administration, including monitoring payments, tracking claim statuses, and assisting with account reconciliations as required.
• Liaise with medical aids regarding authorisations, approvals, claims, and related administration.
• Follow up on outstanding authorisations and ensure all required documentation is submitted accurately and timeously.
• Resolve medical aid queries and facilitate effective communication between all relevant stakeholders.
• Monitor inventory levels and maintain sufficient stock of medical and office supplies.
• Liaise with suppliers and place orders as required, track deliveries, and ensure stock is received, recorded, and stored appropriately.
• Supervise and coordinate administrative staff and perform staff scheduling and operational planning.
