POSITION INFO:

Office Furniture Production Manager

Report to: Factory Manager Location: Booysens Reserve Job Type: Permanent

Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversee end-to-end production of office furniture, ensuring output meets quality, cost, and delivery targets.
Plan and manage daily/weekly production schedules and allocate labour, materials, and machinery effectively.
Coordinate workflow across cutting, machining, assembly, upholstery, finishing, and dispatch departments.
Maintain strict quality control standards and implement corrective actions where required.
Manage and lead production staff, including training, performance oversight, and enforcing safety compliance.
Monitor inventory levels, forecast material requirements, and work with procurement to prevent shortages.
Ensure machinery is maintained and operational through preventative maintenance planning.
Track production KPIs, prepare reports, and identify efficiency improvements to reduce waste and downtime.
Collaborate with design, sales, procurement, and logistics to meet client specifications and deadlines.
Oversee custom furniture projects and ensure accurate translation of client requirements into production.

Requirements:

5+ years’ experience in furniture manufacturing (office furniture highly advantageous).
CNC machine experience is essential (setup, operation, troubleshooting).
Strong leadership skills with experience managing production teams.
Solid understanding of cutting, machining, assembly, upholstery, finishing, and dispatch processes.
Ability to plan production schedules, manage materials, and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of quality control, health & safety, and machinery maintenance.
